Matariki

Matariki Today is Matariki,Matariki means it is Maori new year. During Matariki There is a culture dance and they tell lots of stories they especially tell the story about the seven stars. In the sky there are seven stars during Matariki the seven stars come to up before the celebration of Matariki begins. After all the culture dances and the stories we get to eat. After i ate i went to the beach with my whole family. When we arrived at the beach i saw my uncle and he already lit the fire just to keep him warm. As i walk to the fire with my uncle to keep warm my uncle told me lots of stories then the very last story he told me was about the seven stars. Saint George was a dragon slayer and he had also saved a princess. Saint   George was the only saint to slay a dragon. Saint George was the Patron saint of England. He used a spear and a sword and a shield to slay the dragon.

In christmas the white candle is lit. the white candle reminds jesus and it also symbolises christ is the light of the world and when we see this great light we are reminded of jesus who fills our lives light. the wreath symbolises that god's love has no beginning or end. the red holly represents the blood of jesus and it also represents the crown of thorns. the tree represents the hope of mankind. the candy cane represents the shepherds crook. the hollie represents the thorns that was worn by jesus. Santa claus represents saint Nicholas.

Rapunzel

Yesterday 12th November at 11:30 Christ The King went to the hall to see a play called Rapunzel. There were only 3 people in the play and there names were Jack Ben and jane. jack was playing Simon Cow and Ben was playing prince rupee and Jane was playing Rapunzel. i think the funniest part is when The prince heard his father coming and the price was looking for a place to hide till he saw his horse is head and he hid behind. i think the meanest part is when Simon Cow stole Rapunzels voice and when Simon Cow said to Rapunzel,Rapunzel Rapunzel let down your hair then Rapunzel let down her hair then Simon Cow got his scissors and cut Rapunzels hair.

I recommend this play for the juniors because it can make them easily laugh.

                        Saint George.

I am Saint George and  I live in England. My birthday is on April 23. I am the patron saint of England.I was a Roman soldier but then I changed to a christian because the Roman empire is being cruel to the christians. I have been thrown into prison and tortured. I am known for slaying a dragon and saving a princess. I lived in the year 203 and I died in the year 380. In the thirteenth century my feast day is declared a public holiday.

As I enter the room, I am trying to squash in and sit down in the crowded room. When the sisters are telling us about their story, they talked to us about when they started to be a sister and how old they were when they started to be a sister. One of the sisters answered some questions like why were they use to be called the brown Joes? and the answer was when Saint Joseph wore brown.

Favorite character: My favorite character is the bloodbottler because he is like a cave man and also he is the dumbest and he looks funny.

Favorite part: My Favorite part is when the BFG shows sophie his very big ear then sophie was very surprised.

Charlie and the glass elevator

Favorite character: My favorite character is Mister Willy Wonka because he is  crazy and funny.

 My favorite part is when Charlies whole family was inside Mister Willy Wonka's  glass elevator and they were orbiting around the sun then the U.S.A. space rocket hotel saw them. A  guy named Shank called ground control and he said I could see a family of astronauts disguise as 4 old people and a mother and a father and a ten year old boy.  

Rating and Recommending: I think this book should be recommended 8 and up and I rate this book 5 stars *****

Once upon a time there was a father and he had three sons  and they lived in a small wooden house next to the lake. One day the father told the eldest son to go and catch some fish at the lake  for supper. Then the eldest son went under his bed to go and get the net to catch the fish. When He went to the lake to go catch the fish. When he caught some fish he saw and ugly cyclops come out of the lake and he said to the eldest son why are taking my fish then the eldest son dropped the net and ran to the wooden house and he said to his father and his two brothers there is a giant cyclops outside in the lake. Then the second eldest son said to the oldest brother of them all there is no giant cyclops outside in the lake then the father told the second eldest son grabbed the net to catch some fish and he went outside to the lake but the giant cyclops was at the bottom of the lake and the second eldest son said to the family there is no giant cyclops then the second eldest son was catching the fish then the giant cyclops jumped out of the lake again and the giant cyclops said to the second eldest son why are you taking my fish then the second eldest son dropped the net and ran inside the house and he shut the door then he said to his father and his two brothers, there is a giant cyclops outside in the lake. Then the youngest brother got the biggest net of all of the nets in family and he got a knife with him then the little brother went to the lake and he sat down on a big rock then he got lots of fish then the giant cyclops said why are you taking my fish then the youngest son said if you get closer i will kill you but then the giant cyclops started to get scared then the giant cyclops said i will catch all the fish that is  in this lake and i will get you some wood in the forest to cook your food and also make you nice and warm

Mars

It is known as a Red Planet. Mars has a dusty and rocky surface and a thin atmosphere. . Its relatively calm conditions and close proximity to earth make it the most likely destination for future planet exploration by humans.

It has already been visited by a number of Mars Rovers in successful (and unsuccessful) robotic missions. These highly advanced robots gather samples and record important scientific data for scientists back on Earth to study.

1.Mars is nicknamed the red planet because it is covered with rust-like dust. Even the atmosphere is a pinkish red, colored by tiny particles of dust thrown up from the surface

2.Mars experiences violent dust storms which continually change its surface.

3.Mars Has Many Massive Volcanoes And His Home Olympus Mons, the largest volcano in our solar system, it stands 21km high and is 600kM across the base.

4.Mars Has A Very Thin Atmosphere  made mostly of carbon dioxide. It is not thick enough to trap the sun's heat like Venus, so the planet is very cold. Temperatures range from -120 Degrees Celsius on winter nights to 25 Degrees Celsius in the summer.

5.Mars has many channels, plains and canyons on the surface which could have been caused by water erosion in the past.

6.Mars Has Very Weak Gravity Which Cannot Hold Onto The Atmosphere very well.

7. The Polar Ice Caps Consist Of Frozen Co2 (Dry Ice) Which lies over a layer Of Ice.

saturn

Saturn is the second largest planet in our solar system and is another gas giant.

• Saturn has a small rocky core covered with liquid gas.
• It is surrounded by a system of rings that stretch out into space for thousands of kilometres.
• The rings are made up of millions of ice crystals, some as big as houses and others as small as specks of dust.
• Saturn is very light as it is made up of more hydrogen than helium so it is less dense. If we could fit Saturn into a bathtub it would float (but that would have to be one big bathtub!)
• Like Jupiter, Saturn has many moons which surround it.
• Saturn is not a peaceful planet.  Storm winds race around the atmosphere at 800kmp/h.
• Saturn has a very strong magnetic field which traps energy particles resulting in high levels of radiation.

Dogs

Dogs are mammals. Dogs are carnivores. Dogs are in the canine family.

Dogs are good because they can smell drugs. Some dogs are bad because they can kill people. A female dog is called a bitch and a small dog is called a puppy. Dogs can be on farms but they have to be domesticated . Dogs can be useful to blind people because dogs can lead the way. There are different kinds of dogs. Dogs can be sheep dogs but the sheepdogs have to be domesticated. My favourite dog is the police dog because they are strong and they are pretty fast.
